Dr. Paul Pienaar is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon registered with the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa (APRASSA).
He runs a phenomenally successful private practice focusing primarily on Cosmetic Surgery procedures. He runs a practice at the Centurion Cosmetic Clinic and performs his surgery in the state of the art theatres of the Centurion Day Hospital.
Dr. Paul Pienaar qualified as a Medical Doctor (MBChB) from the University of Pretoria in 1995. Since entering the medical arena he has made great strides in both the fields of reconstructive and plastic surgery. He also operated as Senior House Officer for Plastic Surgery at the Mount Vernon Hospital in London where he gained much exposure internationally. He served as Registrar for the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pretoria before qualifying as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon (MMed Plast) in 2005.
Dr. Pienaar also has rooms at the Brooklyn Life Hospital in Pretoria.
Dr. Paul Pienaar has immense interest and experience in Vascular Malformation Surgery and he has been treating hemangiomas and vascular malformations as from 1988. He also performs the Vascular Malformation Surgery at the Centurion Day Hospital.
What you can expect
Dr. Pienaar is known for his professional friendly bedside manner. After an initial consultation is completed, the patient will be quoted on the relevant surgery to be performed. Upon acceptance of the quote, the patient is welcome to visit Dr. Pienaar for two to three consultations prior to the procedure. This quotation will include said consultations, surgical and hospital fees, as well as anaesthesia if required. The patient will then have ample opportunity to discuss any concerns or questions with Dr. Pienaar directly. Pre-and-postoperative care will also be explained and discussed with the patient in detail.
Pre-operative Guidance and Approach
Dr. Pienaar offers patients extensive pre-operative guidance where the patient’s needs and expectations will be discussed in detail. He is remarkably attentive to any complaints or concerns the patients may have, offering the best solution for each patient’s unique needs and circumstances. After obtaining the patient’s medical and surgical history, an in-depth study is performed where Dr. Pienaar identifies any risk factors that may be involved. A physical examination is then conducted to ensure that the patient will be able to undergo surgery safely.
Dr. Pienaar believes in an honest and objective approach and will discuss all opinions with the patient and answer any questions or concerns they may have. He feels it is also necessary to discuss postoperative care and possible complications, ensuring that the patient is at ease.
